J&J Trailers Inc. was founded in 1965 by Jim and Gloria
Johnson. Selling and renting small pop-up camping trailers
out of their garage was the main part of the business. By
1969, as a full time business, J&J's focus changed to caps
and cab-over campers for pickup trucks.

In 1972 the business was moved to it's current location on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia. It was about that time that their sons, Larry and Michael, started working in the shop on Saturdays and during summer vacations.
 

Years later, after receiving education's in completely
unrelated fields, they came on full time.

Today, joined by their sister Lynn, the Johnson family have expanded, modernized and automated the business. In 1989 construction began on the current building.
 

Although the primary business continues to be
pickup truck caps, a complete truck & van accessory
store has been added.

Now available are bedliners, hitches, cargo carriers, running boards, nerf bars, and bug shields. Also racks, toolboxes, and van shelving are in stock for the commercial customer.
